Give it up people, Obama was born in the US

Amazing that people still think there is some conspiracy going on here. As the Daily Show clip points out, it would've needed to start in 1961 when the birth announcement was placed in two newspapers in Hawaii. Then wait 47 years to get him elected POTUS and unleash the secret weapon on the unsuspecting populace!! Really?

Put some of that energy into helping improve the country rather then continue to try to tear it down. I put up with Bush for 8 years, you need to put up with my guy for the next 8.

Most popular?

John McCain called out fellow Republicans who have questioned running mate Sarah Palin’s credentials Tuesday.

“What’s their problem?” McCain asked during an interview with radio host Don Imus.

“She is a governor, the most popular governor in America,” McCain said.

What criteria does McCain use to determine that she is the most popular? A state with 683,000 people hardly makes a blip on the national radar. If she was elected by the largest percentage of the population in one state, it is still underwhelming with that small of a population.... Wouldn't Arnold best any popularity vote? (And that certainly does NOT qualify him to be the Governor!)

The McCain hypocrisy continues (fron Daily KOS)

Down in the polls, John McCain's Divide & Flail™ strategy is to call Barack Obama's tax cut for 95% of Americans "socialism."

Well, John McCain must have once been a socialist, because it turns out that for years he supported higher taxes on the wealthy to pay for lower taxes on the middle-class. The YouTube don't lie:

Bush's Mass Pardons Predicted - Including himself

In this guest essay, former Democratic congressional aide Brent Budowsky predicts that Bush will take the latter course, even outdoing his father's lame-duck Iran-Contra pardons in 1992:

John McCain v. The Truth

McCain’s greatest character flaw as a potential President may be his brash self-righteousness, often expressed in a combative manner that shows little tolerance for even well-founded criticism. McCain is letting his dark side out. He snarls and sneers about Obama and snaps sarcastically at anyone who poses a challenging question.

Online tool estimates taxes under McCain, Obama

This from an AP article on Yahoo news, Quote " For example, the model indicates that a couple with two children earning $100,000 with $20,000 in itemized deductions would have a net tax bill for 2009 of $9,555 under McCain and $9,002 under Obama. That compares with a $9,505 tax bill for this couple under current law, the electiontaxes.com site says. In another example, a single taxpayer making $50,000 and using the standard deduction would pay $6,867 under McCain and $6,325 under Obama, compared with $6,827 under current law."

John McCain WILL raise your taxes unless you are making upwards of $250,000. He will continue the practice of the last 8 years of tax breaks for oil companies and conglomerates and the people will bear that burden.

FactCheck.org - A very good site

This particular article I linked to is The Whoppers of 2008 (so far). They hold both candidates accountable for their false or exaggerated claims in their rhetoric.

4th of July - A perfect day to reflect on Patriotism

So I took the time to watch a great speech from a man destined to be a great leader of this nation. I highly recommend that you take some time to watch it as well.
